About Me

Inside OT

Hey y’all, I’m Jennie and I run Occupational Therapy Answers with the help of my wonderful husband. ┬áThis website was created because I was struggling to find practical answers to my questions when I started working in a new setting. I would get so frustrated that I couldn’t find a good way to help the families and children I was working with that I would research and write up simple articles to share. Thus, OTA.com was born!

I’ve been working with special needs children in a variety of settings for close to 10 years and absolutely love it. I have a degree in child development and a masters in occupational therapy. I’ve worked in outpatient clinics, home health, ECI, and hospital settings.

I’m naturally curious and love to educate myself on a variety of topics including nutrition, homeopathic remedies, ┬ásensory integration, and neurological issues. I prefer a holistic approach and encourage the families I work with to address the whole child and to be willing to get outside of their comfort zone and try new interventions and treatments.

Outside of OT

We are the proud parents of a wild little boy and we have two fur babies, a great dane and a chi-weenie! Currently, I am a stay at home mom and I love to exercise, read, craft and be outside. I enjoy running and have completed countless races, as well as a single triathlon.

If you have questions or ideas for articles, reach out to me at occupationaltherapyanswers@gmail.com. I’d love to hear from you!!
